Desert Leaders Is a Free Public Charter School starting with Kinder through 3rd grade in August of 2017
The philosophy behind this charter is driven by five core components: results-oriented programming, student leadership, small learning communities, family first, and rigorous individualized instruction. Each of these core elements contributes to the overall goal of the school, which is the creation of self-motivated, competent, lifelong learners.

Who are we
We are a small school with a very big purpose. To offer the highest quality free public school education in a safe, family friendly environment. To develop student leaders who become knowledgeable, respectful, life long learners. We do this with the best possible: teachers, administrators, staff, curriculum, assessment, and technology plus a daily school schedule offering exciting opportunities. We will start the 2017-2018 school year with one class each of Transitional Kindergarten to third grade adding a grade a year to the sixth grade.
What do we do?
The official instructional day starts at 8:00 am, and with a nutritional break around 10:15 am, and the core days ends around at 1:00 pm. At this time parents may choose to take their children home to expand the gift of family time. But that is not when learning or the fun must end. A lunch period (including free/reduced lunch program) follows from 1:00pm to 1:45 pm(again the time when parents may choose to take students home) and then from 1:45pm to 2:45pm students who need additional instruction or those interested in electives and enrichment classes stay until then and from 2:45pm to 5:30pm child care will be provided for those families in need of this service.
