Yucaipa Christian School Goes the Distance
Yucaipa Christian School is once again riding for a cause. For the fifth consecutive year students, parents and staff will partake in a 311-mile bicycle tour that travels from Yucaipa to Phoenix, AZ.
The Strada Corsa bicycle tour, being led by Yucaipa Christian School Administrator James Cochran, begins March 22 and concludes on March 30. During the event participants will enjoy a Major League Baseball Spring Training game in Peoria, courtesy of the Peoria Sports Complex and the San Diego Padres.
This year there are 25 riders. Of those registered, 11 are in 4th, 5th and 6th grades at Yucaipa Christian School, as well as Junior High alumni. The riders have been collecting sponsorships to cover the cost of the ride and raise funds for education, scholarships, child obesity programs, and community outreach projects at the Yucaipa Bike Park.
“The Strada Corsa bike ride is a fun and interactive way to raise awareness for not only the mission of Yucaipa Christian School, but also of childhood obesity and how it can be avoided,” said Cochran.
