Subaru Sees 20 percent Sales Jump
Outback, Impreza and Legacy are Top-Selling Models
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Figures released by Subaru of America show that car sales rose by 20 percent in January compared to January 2011.
Subaru of America sold 22,807 vehicles last month, compared to 18,858 vehicles sold during the first month of 2011. The top-selling vehicle was the Outback wagon, whose sales increased 6.2 percent compared to January 2011. Other popular sellers were the Impreza, which tripled in sales, and the Legacy, which showed a 24.3 percent increase from January 2011.
Mike Graeber, general manager of Subaru of San Bernardino which is located at the San Bernardino Auto Center, said auto sales are rebounding as the economy recovers. In addition, many car owners who decided to hang on to their vehicles during the recession are now realizing they need to purchase newer models, he said.
“Subaru also has a loyal following of customers who are attracted to their versatile sport utility models and high-performance subcompacts,” Graeber said.
