RIVERSIDE, CA — Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) is a fashion and shopping extravaganza event that was first launched in New York in 2009. Since then, FNO has become an international phenomena and FNO 2012 promises to be even bigger and better!

Downtown Riverside first participated in Fashion’s Night Out in 2011 and drew over 1,500 fashionistas from all over the Inland region to celebrate the art of fashion and enjoy the unique shopping experience of downtown Riverside. With the success of last year’s event, Downtown Riverside will once again celebrate Fashion’s Night Out on September 6, 2012.

Downtown Riverside Celebrates Fashion’s Night Out kicks off at 4 pm with downtown businesses offering in-store specials, meet and greet of local fashion designers, product sampling, demonstrations, and more. At 6 pm the Main Street Fashion Show produced in partnership with The Art Institute of California – Inland Empire will feature fashions from local retailers and Art Institute design students, as well as the first RDP Fashion Star Award design competition. The FNO Hairstyling Competition for professional and student hairstylists will also take place at 6 pm at the Riverside Auditorium and Events Center. Then at 7 pm, it’s the launch of Aurea Vista, a Shopping Mecca, with a catwalk, performances and more at University and Lemon. At 9 pm, downtown hospitality establishments will offer specials at after parties for weary fashionistas who have shopped until they dropped.

Downtown Riverside Celebrates Fashion’s Night Out will also collaborate with the September Riverside Arts Walk to feature wearable art and fashion exhibits from various downtown galleries and fashion film features and performances at the Culver Center of the Arts.
