Community Forum planned to address substance abuse
InlandEmpire.US – The Redlands Police Department, along with the Redlands Area Interfaith Council, Step By Step and First Church of Christ, Scientist, is presenting a community forum on substance abuse, at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at the Redlands City Council Chambers, 35 Cajon St.
The partnership between the Redlands Police Department and the local churches is part of the department’s community policing strategy, which involves cooperation with community groups, including faith-based organizations, to address factors that contribute to a reduction in crime and promoting strong families and safe neighborhoods.
Keynote speaker Ginny Luedeman is a Christian Science lecturer who overdosed on LSD as a rock singer in the 1960s and now shares her spiritual journey to physical healing, “From Hard Rock Singer to Healer – An amazing journey shared.”
Panelists will include San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos; Dr. Patrick Smith, school psychologist and special services administrator for the Redlands Unified School District; and Andrew Wildasinn, clinical coordinator for the chemical dependency program at Loma Linda University Behavioral Medicine Center. The panel will be moderated by Redlands Police Chief Jim Bueermann.
The program is free and open to all community members. Refreshments will be served.
