Congressman McKeon Votes for Domestic Energy and Jobs Act
Legislation boosts domestic energy production, reduces energy costs and spurs job creation
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Howard “Buck” McKeon voted in favor of H.R. 4480, the Domestic Energy and Jobs Act. This bill will not only reduce energy costs, but also spur economic growth and job creation. This legislation is part of the Republican energy agenda that embraces a true all-of-the-above approach to boosting energy production, lowering energy costs and gaining energy independence.
This important legislation requires the federal government to be a cooperative partner in efforts to harness this country’s full potential of energy production. Not only will this bill invest more in American made energy but it will also help create jobs and grow the economy. With the continued discovery of American made energy comes the need for manufacturers, engineers, leasing specialists, rig operators, and many more American jobs. Additionally, these efforts work towards our crucial goal of gaining energy independence.
“America has an abundance of energy resources, but unfortunately, we also have an overabundance of interference and regulation by the Obama Administration, keeping much of that energy under lock and key,” said Congressman McKeon. “Since President Obama took office, the price of a gallon of gasoline has nearly doubled. Ballooning gas prices don’t just affect the price at the pump, they impact our grocery bills, our overall cost of living and the daily operations of all our businesses. The greatest potential for economic growth in this country can be found in our domestic energy resources and with 13 million Americans out of work in this still sluggish economy, there is no excuse for Washington to sit idly by.”
