Egg-citement in Fontana
Egg hunts and activities planned throughout the City
Fontana, California – The Mayor and City Council invite the public to participate in Fontana’s Egg-citing Egg Hunts this month.
There will be six egg hunts taking place on Saturday, April 23 in the City of Fontana. These free events provide the community with festive activities of egg hunts, crafts, games and music.
The Don Day Neighborhood Center, located at 14501 Live Oak Avenue, will host its annual Spring Egg Hunt. At the hunt, the Great Commission church will provide a free pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. A free egg hunt for ages 3-12 will take place outside at Southridge Park at 10 a.m. The Easter Bunny will hand out eggs with candy and prizes to children ages 0-2-years-old. There will also be crafts, games with prizes, raffles, face painting, balloon animals, caricature artists, music, food and vendors.
Jack Bulik Park, located at 16581 Filbert Street, will host a free Egg-A-Licious egg hunt from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The egg hunts are for youth ages 2-13. Look out for the golden egg that will award the finder with a goody basket of treats. There will also be arts and crafts, sack races, face painting, balloon animals and a “Peep Eating Contest.” The Easter Bunny will be on hand for pictures during the event.
The Mountain View Community Church will host activities at Veteran’s Park, located at 17255 Merrill Ave. For the seventh year in a row there will be a free Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 1-12, as well as age appropriate activities and face painting. A visit from the Easter Bunny is also scheduled. The church will be giving out food packages to as many as 500 families in need and will also host a free B-B-Q with hamburgers and hotdogs.
The Cypress Neighborhood Center, located at 8380 Cypress Ave., will host a free an Eggs-Travaganza from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The egg hunt will take place across the street at Seville Park. At the Cypress Center, there will be a visit from Build-A-Bear Company mascot, Pawlette the Bunny, who will be available to take pictures with those in attendance. The first 400 participants will receive free bunny ears from the Build-A-Bear Company. There will also be arts and crafts, games, face painting, and other activities.
The Heritage Neighborhood Center will host activities full of Egg-Citement at McDermott Park, located at 7846 S. Heritage Loop, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This free egg hunt is for ages 3-12 and includes a special prize for whoever finds Mr. Bunny’s Golden Ticket. Families are encouraged to come out and enjoy games, jumpers, music, food, arts and crafts, face painting, pictures with the Easter Bunny and giveaways.
The Jessie Turner Health & Fitness Community Center, along with support from Water of Life Church, will host more Egg-Citement at Fontana Park, located at 15556 Summit Ave., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This egg hunt is for ages 3-12. There will be games, arts & crafts, face painting, balloon animals, raffles, pictures with the Easter Bunny, and a stage performance by Franklin Haynes Marionettes titled “Marionette Magic.” Along with the Easter events there will be an open house where residents can watch class demonstrations and see all the Jessie Turner Center has to offer.
