Lisa Layne, Beth Mendoza and the cowboys are accompanied by a live country band complete with steel guitar!
Miss Layne’s professional career began at the age of four and when she reached high school, she formed her own country band in which she sand and played the bass guitar. In 1985 she joined Vince Vance and the Valiants touring the country as a 50’s and 60’s showband. Lisa’s time with the Valiants in 1989 led to her record “All I Want For Christmas is You.” It is No. 43 on Billboards Hot 100 Holiday Songs, according to their release on in December of 2010. It previously peaked at No. 31, and is constantly the most requested holiday song.
After their marriage in 1992, Lisa and her husband moved to Nashville. In early 1995, Layne won the role of Patsy Cline in the first national tour of A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline. She toured with that troupe for the better part of two years before joining the Nashville Troupe as the lead in the same show. She performed at the Texas Troubadour Theater in Nashville doing the Patsy show from 1998 through. Layne performed across the country from 2000 to 2005 and then moved to Branson, Missouri, where she had her own country show. She has been performing in Always…Patsy Cline in Branson since last season and will continue the production into the 2011 season. This will mark Layne’s sixth engagement with the Candlelight Pavilion, her last performance of course being in 2010’s Always…Patsy Cline.
