Online Course in Basic Audiometry/Hearing Problems Offered
The College of Extended Learning at California State University, San Bernardino offers an online course for those interested in becoming certified school audiometrists. “Basic Audiometry and Hearing Problems” examines the anatomy and physiology of the ear and provides an overview of acoustic stimulus, hearing disorders, problems experienced by the hard of hearing, and pure-tone audiometry. Students will work independently online and complete practical assignments with a licensed or certified school audiometrist. Following successful completion of the course, students will be qualified to apply directly to the California Department of Health Services for a School Audiometrist Certificate.
“Basic Audiometry and Hearing Problems” may be completed online between Sept. 23 and Dec. 4, 2010. Enrollment is limited, and registration is required by Monday, Sept. 20.
