The Ramona’s Education Department provides programs for everyone.
Our fourth grade performance fulfills the California State standards in history. For each teacher there will be a study guide that includes:
- The history of the Ramona Bowl, the life of Helen Hunt Jackson and “Ramona” the novel and the play.
- The correlation of actual historical events in and around this geographical area and how they are portrayed in the play
- Lessons that address the Social Studies Standards as well as English and Math Standards.
- As an added bonus there is a scene from the play that students will be able to recreate in the classroom.
- The Ramona Bowl offers a Summer Youth Theatre Program where students ages 5-18 have the opportunity to learn the basics of Musical Theatre. they learn vocal techniques, character analysis, stage movement and blocking, and choreography which culminates in the presentation ofa musical. In 2010 Disney’s Alice in Wonderland was presented and in 2011 we will be presenting Disney’s Aladdin!
