The Kiwanis Club of Redlands Noon will present the 30th annual A Run Through Redlands on Sunday, April 21 in downtown Redlands. This 5k, 10k and ½ marathon run draws thousands of runners and walkers each year and enables the Kiwanis Club of Redlands to support local youth in the community. New this year is a Color Splash event where participants will be doused with splashes of color during a 2K walk/run.
Also new this year is a Food Truck Event to be held from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 20 in the Redlands Mall parking lot in conjunction with A Run Through Redlands registration pickup. Partake in delicious delicacies from hoards of food trucks, Hanger 24, Ritual Brewery and State Street Winery. Also featured at the event will be live bands with local musicians including Strange Brew, Shoes to Fill and the Professors, and a kid’s zone with bouncers sponsored by the Redlands Animal Shelter. Admission to the Food Truck Event is $5.
The 30th Annual A Run Through Redlands will start at the Redlands Mall in downtown Redlands and finish at the historic Redlands Bowl. Course distances for the 5k, 10k and ½ marathon have been officially measured and certified by USATF. The 2K Color Splash event is a non-timed fun event. The timed courses wind through beautiful Redlands’ tree-lined streets past historic homes and breathtaking views of the San Bernardino mountains. The Color Run and 5k courses are almost entirely flat. The 10k course features fewer climbs and will include running through historic Smiley Heights. The ½ marathon course was redesigned in 2008 with lower elevation gain, and will include running through Prospect Park, the Redlands Country Club area, Redlands Community Hospital and Smiley Heights on the way back to downtown Redlands and finish at the Redlands Bowl. A Kinder Dash for children ages 3 to 6 will be held at the Lincoln Shrine Park, adjacent to the Bowl. A runner’s expo will be held at the finish line area. Wheelchairs, baby strollers and walkers are welcome in all the events.
Advance registration, postmarked by April 15, is $25 for the 5k, $30 for the 10k and $55 for the ½ marathon. Color Run registration is $25 if already participating in the 5K or 10K event, or $30 for the Color Run only. Preregistrations received before April 15 will receive a race t-shirt. After April 15 fees are $30 for the 5k, $35 for the 10k and $60 for the ½ marathon. Race day registration is $35 for the 5k, $40 for the 10k and $65 for the ½ marathon. Kinderdash registration is $5 and is available from 9 to 10 a.m. race day only.
