April 10, 2013—David Marion, Managing Partner of Smith Marion and Company, announced the promotion of Timothy May to Senior Associate today. May works with clients in the firm’s audit department. “May will be responsible for the determination of the major federal programs to be audited,” stated Marion in the announcement. “He will  review and analyze clients’ internal controls, and prepare their financial statements and single audit reports.”

May graduated in 2011 from CaliforniaStateUniversity, San Bernardino, with a Bachelor of Science – Business Administration. He began his career with Smith Marion & Co. in August of 2011 at their Grand Terrace, California office. May transferred to the firm’s Brentwood, TN office in November of 2012.

May recently passed the Certified Public Accounting examination and is awaiting licensure by the Board of Accountancy. He previously worked for US Bank as a Senior Banker where he provided customer service and ensured operational compliance in branch operations. Currently, May is providing auditing and accounting to nonprofit and governmental clients.
