ABC’s of Structuring Your Business
(SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.) Whether you are launching or already own a business, you need a current business plan for today’s economy. Understanding how to structure your business can be an overwhelming experience for many. Without the proper guidance, your venture could be like building your house on sand.
The Inland Empire African American Chamber of Commerce will assist local entrepreneurs at the “ABC’s of Structuring Your Business” workshop on Sept. 1 at 11:30 a.m. at the Greater Riverside Chamber of Commerce located at 3985 University Ave.
“There are many creative ideas for expanding and stabilizing your businesses,” said Carl Dameron, president of the Inland Empire African American Chamber of Commerce. “Unfortunately without the proper preparation, planning and structuring they may never grow into their full potential and remain just another good idea.”
The workshop is open to all small business owners and anyone with the desire to create their own enterprise. Vincent McCoy, director of the Inland Empire Small Business Development Center and Rob Moran, development manager with the City of Riverside Development Agency will be on hand to assist you in writing a winning business plan, apply management strategies, business law and regulation, survival techniques, and much more.
“We want to help business owners understand the importance of keeping their business plans relevant for today’s changing environment,” said Dolores Armstead, vice president of the Inland Empire African American Chamber of Commerce. “We want to help them move forward with workable business models that lead to a successful business.”
The Small Business Administration (SBA) classifies a small business as a for profit organization operating primarily in the U.S. and makes a significant contribution to the U.S. economy through payment of taxes or use of American products, materials or labor. Also, if its independently owned and operated; and gross sales are under $5 million a year.
