Attend the Inland Empire Debating Society Meeting, Jan. 9th
What to spend and Interesting and Informative Sunday Afternoon?
Grace Cerrone, CEO of the MyDemocracy organization is scheduled to speak to the club at 3:00 p.m. at the January 9, 2011 meeting. Her message is: My Democracy is not something to have but something to do.
The Inland Empire Debating Society holds its meetings on the second Sunday of each month, at 3:00 p.m. sharp at Denny’s restaurant in Redlands.
Take the Alabama off ramp and just as you get over the freeway heading north look for the Denny’s restaurant. It is right there on the right. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the club may join for $15.00 per year. Students may join without paying yearly dues. There is a $500-scholarship available, which will be awarded to a qualified student annually.
The meeting will begin with the debating session, at 3:00 p.m. The subjects for debate are should music and art be restored to the curriculum of public schools and should children of illegal immigrants be eligible for a free college education?
