ONTARIO CALIF – Committed to doing its part to create a stronger business environment, the City of Ontario has once again confirmed its participation in the Milken Institute’s California Center. The Center works to help California’s business and government leaders maintain the state’s global preeminence in trade, technology, the life sciences, entertainment, alternative energy, and other key industries, and to improve the quality of life of its residents.

This vision aligns well with the City of Ontario’s growth goals and forward thinking planning. According to Southern California Association of Governments, Ontario is destined to be the next regional urban center in Southern California. Projected population growth will eventually position Ontario as one of the 50 largest cities in America in the next 30 years.

The Milken Institute’s California Center is dedicated to measuring and analyzing the economic, demographic and social conditions and trends in the state and proposing innovative ideas that will help ensure California’s long-term prosperity. Along with the City of Ontario, the California Center’s supporters include Bank of America, Chevron, Goodwin Procter, PG&E and Guggenheim Partners, among others. The Milken Institute’s California Center specializes in creating market-based solutions that promote job growth and increase access to capital for minority and small-business owners, start-ups and new technologies; bringing together the state’s leaders in business, government and academia to explore new solutions to California’s challenges; and evaluating the state’s economic climate, development prospects and sustainable technology clusters in areas that include infrastructure, health care, clean technology, housing and international trade.

The City’s work with the Milken Institute also corresponds with the adoption earlier this year of The Ontario Plan, Ontario’s web-based general plan. The value of The Ontario Plan is that it supports the Ontario vision for a “complete community” – a community that creates, maintains and grows economic value.
