Director Rod Holcomb Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
Emmy Award winning Television Director & Producer Rod Holcomb will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Lake Arrowhead Film Festival May 19th.
Holcomb holds the prestigious achievement of directing 22 Television Pilots and is perhaps best known for his work directing episodes of E.R., Lost, C.S.I. Miami, Law & Order: L.A., and most recently Rizzoli & Isles, The Good Wife, Justified, and NCIS.
“The Lifetime Achievement Award couldn’t go to a more deserving artist,” said Mary Dippell, Director of the Lake Arrowhead Film Festival, “Mr. Holcomb has forged a dynamic and prolific career. As television has evolved from the late 70’s to now, Rod has been a strong presence and leader in the directing and producing of series and TV movies working with Jon Voight, John Travolta, Dennis Hopper, Richard Dreyfuss, Sissey Spacek, Charles Bronson, Rob Lowe, Dana Delaney, Marcia Gay Harden, George C. Scott, Alan Arkin, James Woods, George Clooney, and others.”
As the man behind the camera, TV buffs everywhere owe Holcomb a debt of gratitude for his directorial work on a laundry list of TV favorites such as Battlestar Galactica (1978-1979), Captain America (1979), The Greatest American Hero (1981-1982), The A-Team (1983), The West Wing (2005), Numb3rs (2006 – 2009), and Justified (2010).
Holcomb has received numerous industry awards for his work including an Emmy for his E.R. finale episode, multiple Directors Guild of America Awards & nominations, the Humanitas Prize for Thanks of A Grateful Nation, and Peabody Award for his work on E.R. This will be his first Lifetime Achievement Award from the Lake Arrowhead Film Festival.
Lake Arrowhead Film Festival runs this May 18th – 20th and attracts close to 2000 film-lovers, filmmakers, and celebrities. This year marks the Festival’s 13th year of bringing the best independent films to Lake Arrowhead.
