Ontario Convention Center Region Welcomes Events: Hundreds of Golden Retrievers to Be On Display
Ontario, Ca– “Solid Gold,” a tribute to So. California’s music industry, is the theme of the annual Golden Retriever Club of America National Specialty to be held Oct. 22-26 at the Ontario Convention Center.
The public is invited, and admission is free. No food, beverages or chairs may be brought into the Ontario Convention Center.
Show and obedience Goldens from across the USA will be judged amid decorations and merchandise sporting the Solid Gold logo, while famous rock ‘n roll music plays in the background. Many vendors will be on the premises, as well as raffle items, raffle baskets, and a silent auction. The event is hosted by the Golden Retriever Club of Greater Los Angeles and chaired by Sharon Shilkoff.
The National Specialty agility trial, also featuring only Goldens, will be held Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 21-22 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at nearby Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park in Ontario. The public is invited and admission is free. Visitors will be able to watch Goldens jump and weave and run through tunnels and over obstacles, and Solid Gold merchandise will be available for sale.
Conformation (show dogs) judging begins Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 8 a.m. in Event Hall A of the Convention Center and continues Oct. 24 and 25 at the same time and area. Best of Breed judging will take place Saturday, Oct. 26, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the same site.
All Obedience competition will be held in Ballroom B/C and it begins at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22 and continues Oct. 23 at 9 a.m. Rally Obedience will be on Friday, Oct. 25, beginning at 9 a.m.
Additional National Specialty events (field trials) will be held Oct. 18, 19, 20 and 27 at the Prado Dog Training facility in Chino, and tracking will take place Sunday, Oct. 27 at Southwestern College in Chula Vista.
