Healthy Fontana Classes in July
Fontana, California, June 23, 2011. The Mayor and City Council invite the public to register for the upcoming cooking classes and Health & Fitness Boot Camp offered by the Healthy Fontana program.
Children can join Healthy Fontana’s Chef for the “Healthy Jr. Chef” cooking class for an interactive and fun cooking class teaching children how to cook and prepare healthy dishes and snacks. Exciting class themes include nutrition, safe food handling, sanitation and proper utensil use. This class is specifically for children ages 8-14. Pre-registration and parent supervision is required. To register, please call the Healthy Fontana Hotline at (909) 350-6542. The class is free and will be held on July 16 at Shady Trails Parkhouse, 15800 South Park Lane, from 3:00pm-4:00pm.
Bring your grandchildren to a watch and learn at the grandparents and children’s cooking class. Watch you grandchildren flourish as they’re taught healthy recipes in a fun and interactive cooking class with hands-on experience. Be part of their learning adventure! Pre-registration and grandparent/parent supervision is required. To register, please call Healthy Fontana Hotline at (909) 350-6242. The class will be held on Monday July 18 at the Fontana Community Senior Center, 16710 Ceres Avenue, from 4:30pm-5:30pm.
Join the Health & Fitness Boot Camp and exercise in a fun supportive atmosphere. Healthy Fontana facilitates a one-hour boot camp that offers an alternative to traditional exercise with activities including drills and team relays specifically designed to burn calories. Classes are six weeks long on Saturdays from 6:30am-7:30am at the Jessie Turner Health & Fitness Center. The center is located at 15556 Summit Avenue in Fontana. The next session begins on July 9 and registration is $30 for six weeks. Pre-registration is required. Participants are asked to bring two 5 pound dumbbells, an exercise mat or towel and plenty of water. This is a fun way to start off your weekend and get back the body you deserve.
