Journalism and Technology Workshop Offered to Area Teens
Writers and Photographers Wanted for Youth Magazine
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIF. – OneNation Media Services is pleased to announce its summer writing workshop offered to area teens. Journalism Boot Camp is a six-week extra-curricular writing and journalism program for students in grades 9th through 12th. The program provides an opportunity for youth to express their creativity and have their voices heard through the art of journalism. No writing or prior experience is necessary. Students will be taught the basics of print and broadcast journalism. Written articles will be published in Inland Empire Youth, a quarterly newsletter highlighting teens living in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. The workshop will cover additional topics, including public relations, photography, social media, and Internet safety.
“We look forward to working with students and introducing them to new learning opportunities,” said Sheri Stuart, executive director of OneNation Media Services. “We’re dedicated to providing youth with the highest level of journalism education and training in a safe and nurturing environment,” said Stuart.
The first session will be held Saturday, June 25 at Church of Christ of Rancho Cucamonga located at 10261 Trademark, Suite B. A limited number of scholarships are being provided by Transcendence Children & Family Services (www.transcendingfamilies.org), a long-time sponsor of the program.
