MSJC Art Gallery Presents Art Talk with Artist Emma Robbins
The Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) Art Gallery will host an online art talk with Emma Robbins, a Diné artist and social justice fighter, from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10.
Robbins directs the Navajo Water Project at Dig Deep Water, a human rights nonprofit that works to provide Americans with clean running water. Robbins grew up on the Navajo Nation, which has one of the highest concentrations of water poverty and uranium contamination in the nation. Now she is working with her community through the Navajo Water Project to help the 30 percent of residents on the reservation without running water.
With a penchant for working with fellow indigenous women, Robbins also weaves her art into her work to raise awareness about the need for clean water on Native nations. She is a 2020 Aspen Institute Healthy Communities Fellow.
