NAIOP Inland Empire Event Set To “Support Our Veterans”
NAIOP INLAND EMPIRE MAY 3 EVENT SET TO “SUPPORT OUR VETERANS”
Proceeds of 18th Annual Golf Tournament Will Give Gift of Education
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The NAIOP Inland Empire chapter, the region’s premier commercial real estate association, plans to raise $10,000 for our nation’s veterans at its 18th Annual Golf Tournament. Scheduled for May 3 at Industry Hills Golf Club, proceeds of this year’s event will benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF). Founded in 1980, SOWF’s mission is to provide a college education to children who have lost a parent while assigned to a United States Special Operations Command Unit.
“America’s greatest heroes are our veterans, at times giving the ultimate sacrifice of their lives to protect our freedoms,” said event co-chair, Mike McCrary of Jones Lang LaSalle. “A volunteer workforce organization with access to so many resources, we at NAIOP have the ability and opportunity to do our part to repay those that have given so much for us. It’s truly an honor.”
McCrary added that the success of an event of this stature is largely dependent on the generosity of local businesses, acknowledging the commitment of the major sponsors of this year’s event: KTR Capital Partners, The McShane Companies, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Millie and Severson Incorporated, and DEXUS Property Group. Also instrumental is the hard work and dedication of numerous volunteers, selflessly giving of their time, talent, and energy.
Undoubtedly, though, those most appreciative of NAIOP’s efforts are certain to be the recipients of SOWF’s services. SOWF is currently committed to providing scholarships for more than 900 deserving children. In 2010 alone, a total of $4.8 million in scholarship grants, educational programs, and financial counseling was provided by the organization to worthy recipients.
