Office of Business Development workshops educate local entrepreneurs
Seminars focus on business plans, marketing strategies
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (Nov. 2) — The City of San Bernardino Economic Development Agency, Office of Business Development offers a series of workshops that provide essential information to local business owners trying to expand and grow their companies.
“Upcoming workshops, organized in conjunction with the Inland Empire Women’s Business council, are focusing on organizational skills, writing a business plan and adapting to change,” said Lori Tillery, economic development manager for the City of San Bernardino Economic Development Agency. “These are all skills essential for today’s entrepreneur.”
Workshops scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 4, include:
- “Nothing Happens Until You Market It,” taught by Tim Sunderland of Gonzo Marketers from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This workshop will focus on different ways to market a business, such as face-to-face, word of mouth, online marketing, event marketing and public relations. (Cost: $15 online at www.iewbc.org, $20 at the door.)
- “Writing a Winning Business Plan,” taught by Rachel Wolfinbarger, training coordinator, Inland Empire Women’s Business Center, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This workshop will focus on the essential elements needed for a successful business plan such as goals, marketing strategies and financial projections. (Cost: $15 online at www.iewbc.org, $20 at the door.)
