ONTARIO: National Fire Prevention Week – Fire Department Open House
NATIONAL FIRE PREVENTION WEEK: FIRE DEPARTMENT OPEN HOUSE
On Saturday, October 6, 2012, the Ontario Fire Department will hold its annual Open House to commemorate National Fire Prevention Week! This FREE event promises fun for the entire family. Come see live demonstrations of firefighters in action (live vehicle fire, vehicle extrication, emergency medical situation, heavy rescue, etc.), OFD specialty teams (Bomb Squad, Hazardous Materials, Heavy Rescue) and visit the safety related booths. Kids get the chance to meet real firefighters, squirt a real fire hose, take pictures with Sparky and Freddy the Fire Truck, slide down the giant inflatable fire truck slide, play in the fire dog play center and learn fire safety tips in our Fire Safety House! We will also be holding the 8th Annual Elementary School Poster Contest (for grades K-3). Come join the fun and excitement! The Open House will be held at the Ontario Fire Department Training Center (Station 3) located at 1408 East Francis Street from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. For demonstration times or more information, please call the Ontario Fire Prevention Bureau at (909) 395-2029.
