Pet Adoption Fees Waived for Military Veterans Beginning 2020
Corona, CA – Senate Bill No. 245 will soon allow Veterans in California to adopt a pet from the Corona Animal Shelter, and other public shelters, for free.
Beginning January 1, 2020, veterans may show their driver’s license or ID card with the “VETERAN” designation on it to shelter personnel and have adoption fees waived.
The law limits the free dog and cat adoptions to one every six months. Additionally, Corona residents may have up to three dogs and three cats pets per household (CMC 17.08.020).
Although the bill waives adoption fees, licensing and microchip fees still apply.
You can check out adoptable dogs and adoptable cats online at www.petharbor.com.
