RAM: Members Show (and hope to sell) their Stuff
Members Show (and hope to sell) their Stuff
Riverside CA – The Riverside Art Museum (RAM) announces the opening of the 2011 Members’ Exhibit. The exhibition runs from June 9 – July 8, 2011 with an Awards Reception Thursday, July, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Awards begin at 5:30 p.m.
Continuing in yearly tradition, the Riverside Art Museum is pleased to present our larger-than-life 2011 Members’ Exhibition! This annual event puts RAM’s abundant and talented artist-member demographic front and center with the opportunity to display and sell an original piece of their choice.
Last year’s Members’ Mini Exhibition celebrated pieces small in stature, but big in spirit. This year, with a whopping 110 pieces and an even larger gallery space to boot, artists are given ‘free reign’ with an open media, open-in-theme exhibition. Some chose to align their work with RAM’s 2011 exhibition theme, California Culture, while others let the sky be the limit…RAM’s artist-member group encompasses everyone from prominent and renowned professional artists to those who enjoy dabbling in any artistic sensibility.
Our Award Reception on July 7 will include the distribution of: Best of Show award, Curatorial Award, and Honorable Mention, as well as a Curatorial Talk. The judging panel will consist of the Member’s Exhibition Curator, Kathryn Poindexter, and guest judges Cosme Cordova, Denise Kraemer, and Terry d. Chacon. Guests are invited to look through a book of select artists’ statements, biographies, and price list. This exhibition was made possible through generous support from the City of Riverside and the James Irvine Foundation.

RAM relies on the generosity of members and donors to support its exhibitions, education programs, and special events. A 50-plus-year-old, private, non-profit cultural arts institution housed in a National Historic 1929 building designed by Hearst Castle architect Julia Morgan, the museum welcomes over 50,000 visitors a year. The museum is open Monday – Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. For information on exhibits, events, classes, memberships, or sponsorship opportunities, visit www.RiversideArtMuseum.org.
