Solar Heat Pump is the First 100% Direct Current System
Loma Linda, CA – December 1, 2013 – Securus Air in coordination with Hot Spot Energy will begin shipping the certified DC4812VRF, 100% direct current split heat pump in January 2014.
“This is the first certified cooling and heating system that will use 100%, 48-volt direct current power, (about 500-watts per hour on average) from a battery bank during the hottest part of the day and all night depending on the size of the battery bank”, said Mr. Walsh, Director of Development. “The DC48 is the best direct current system ever built and its power may come from solar panels, wind turbines, generators or the grid; it depends on what’s available and what sustainability level you want to be at. If it’s solar then the panels, racking, batteries, charger, wiring and install labor will qualify for the 30% Federal Tax Credit through 2016” he added.
The one-ton DC48 is the first super efficient, 100% direct current, (48-volts from a battery bank) solar air conditioning system that can alternate between cooling and heat to climate control up to 600 square feet of interior space. The ozone friendly DC48 installs just like any other ductless split, is heat and corrosion hardened and controlled with a hand held remote. It retails for about the same as a high quality, best efficiency unit that operates on alternate current. Uses include; Primary and augmentation climate control for business and residential, off-grid, telecommunication, hospitality and health care air conditioning.
