Temecula Is Quickly Becoming The Solar Capital Of Riverside County
A Citywide Solar Program Spurs the Growth of the Community’s Adoption of Solar Power
TEMECULA, CA– In an unprecedented move towards solar energy, Temecula residents rallied behind the Temecula Solar Program which has resulted in over 50 new solar power systems scheduled to be deployed in the coming months. Combined, over 375,000 watts of solar power are going to be installed. The Temecula Solar Program, which is paying people to go solar, has resulted in the largest collective deployment of renewable energy in the City of Temecula’s history.
According to program administrator, Sullivan Solar Power, the now closed program outpaced expectations. The ambitious amount of solar expected to be deployed was only 200,000 watts but Temecula homeowners, enticed by the Program’s offer of no money out of pocket, significant bill savings, and cash payments once their project is completed, blew those expectations out of the water.
“I had never considered going solar because I thought you had to purchase the solar system. Sullivan Solar Power showed me how you can go solar for $0 down or with a prepaid lease,” said Temecula Solar Program participant, Perry Jensen. “Going solar makes so much sense financially. Excluding the $8,000 incentive check I’ll receive from Sullivan through this program, I will save $217,000 over the next 20 years.”
The Temecula Solar Program has resulted Temecula becoming the residential solar capital of Riverside County for pending installations. Prior to the Program’s launch the City of Corona held the title, but not by much. The two cities are neck and neck for pending installations. Temecula now has over 175,000 watts in additional residential solar capacity than Corona.
The program administrator, Sullivan Solar Power, will be handling the design and installation of all systems and once all the systems are installed, Sullivan will be issuing payments to homeowners for their participation. The total amount of incentives being injected into the community is over $210,000 In addition, Sullivan will be donating a solar power system to local hero, U.S. Marine Cpl. Juan Dominguez, in appreciation of his sacrifice for our country. The solar array will be installed by Sullivan on Cpl. Dominguez’ new energy smart home, which is being built by the Gary Sinise Foundation and the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
While the Temecula Solar Program’s cash payments are no longer available, Temecula residents can still go solar and save money with no money out of pocket, according to Sullivan.
“The Temecula Solar Program has truly been a win-win situation for all – residents, the environment, the local and national economy,” said Sullivan, “However, the success of the Program is only the beginning. We will be involved in helping this community move towards a sustainable future for years to come.”
