TEMECULA: Temecula Valley Players Presents The Music Man
TVP Presents The Music Man
Temecula Valley Players 30th season of performing live theater in Temecula opens September 13 with Meredith Willson’s, The Music Man. Con-man Harold Hill, played by Paul Kehler, likes a challenge and when the other salesmen on the train headed west tell him that Iowa is the biggest test of all sales ability, he gets off at River City intending to cheat the community with his standard scam of offering to equip and train a boy’s marching band, then skip town with the money since he has no musical skill. Things go awry when he falls for Marian the librarian. Marian, played by Cheri Kehler, doesn’t buy the professor’s line but he convinces many of his other potential customers that the new pool table that has just been placed in the billiard parlor could mean “trouble in River City.” Directed by Carol Damgen, choreographed by Lisa Lyons and musically directed by Brian Smith, this talented cast will sing and dance their way into your hearts with barbershop quartets, Wells Fargo Wagons, Grecian Urns, and 76 Trombones.
Performances are Sept 13-30 on Thurs, Fri, Sat evenings @ 7:30 & Sunday matinees @ 2:00. This Classic flag-waving, feel-good, musical comedic Americana is enjoyment for the whole family.
