The Addy Awards Are Coming to the Desert.
RECOGNIZING THE BEST ADVERTISING AND CREATIVE WORK IN THE VALLEY
PALM SPRINGS, CA – The American Advertising Federation of the Desert will host The ADDY Awards, its most prestigious event of the year on Friday, March 11, 2011 at The Show at Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa, 32-250 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage. The theme of the 2011 ADDY Awards Ceremony and Gala event is “Best In Show.”
The local ADDY event is the first of a three-tier national competition. A distinguished panel of five advertising creative professionals from out of the area judged 176 entries in February. Work was eligible that first appeared in the media or was used from January 1 through December 31, 2010. Winners of the ADDY Awards are eligible to participate in a regional competition and ultimately compete for a national ADDY. The national ADDY Awards will be held in San Diego this June.
“We are excited to once again honor the excellence in advertising and creative work found right here in our valley,” says Tim O’Bayley, President. “The ADDY awards competition is the advertising & media industry’s biggest night in the Coachella Valley.”
Proceeds from the ADDY Awards help support the Advertising Federation of the Desert’s educational programs, public service projects, and proactive government-relations efforts. American Advertising Federation (AAF) Palm Springs ⋅ Desert Cities is a non-profit organization of professionals dedicated to enhancing the advertising profession through fellowship, education, community service and public awareness.
The local event will include a no-host bar and Entry Showcase at 6 pm, followed by the Dinner and Awards Presentation beginning at 7 pm. This year’s Awards are sponsored by Trio Restaurant, “where Palm Springs eats.” Trio is a hip and eclectic dining establishment with an energetic, desert-casual atmosphere that appeals to locals and visitors alike. Tickets are $125 per person for members and $150 for non-members. For more information, please visit www.desertadfed.com or call 760/325-2882.
