98th Annual Fontana Days Festival in June
Fontana, California, May 1, 2011 – The Mayor and City Council invite residents to the 98th Annual Fontana Days Festival, sponsored by the Fontana Exchange Club, starting on June 2 at Veterans Park, located at 17255 Merrill Avenue.
The Fontana Days festival spans four days from Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5 and features a carnival, live entertainment, vendors, a livestock auction and a parade.
The excitement starts on Thursday, June 2, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be no gate fee and $1 rides. The fun continues on Friday, June 3 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. There is a $1 gate fee and regularly priced rides.
On Saturday, June 4, the Fontana Days Festival starts off with a car show at 8:00 a.m. and a parade at 11 a.m. The parade will start at the intersection of Arrow Blvd and Sierra Ave. and move south to Veterans Park on Merrill where the Fontana Days festivities will run from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. and feature the car show along with the carnival, vendors and live entertainment. Wristbands for rides on Saturday are available for $16.
Also at the Festival is the Fontana Days Junior Livestock Show where young members of local 4-H programs show their hand-raised cows, pigs, sheep, goats, rabbits and chickens in the hopes of getting the elusive blue ribbon. The Animal Show starts on Saturday at 10 a.m.
On Sunday, June 5, the Festival continues through its final day with a carnival and vendors from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Also at the festival is the annual Ballet Folklorico Competition, along with a livestock auction from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wristbands for rides on Sunday are $16.
