City of Eastvale Appoints New Finance Director
Eastvale, CA – The City of Eastvale is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda Wells, the City’s former Accounting Manager, as the City’s new Finance Director/ City Treasurer. The appointment became effective on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. Wells was selected from twenty-three applicants of a nation-wide recruitment search.
“We are very pleased to have Amanda serve as the Finance Director/ City Treasurer, she has already brought in new processes and streamlined procedures with her strong morals, integrity, and ethical characteristics and principles,” City Manager Bryan Jones said. “She is committed to our team and the community, and I am confident that her leadership, dedication, expertise, and experience will continue to elevate the City’s Finance Department.”
Prior to joining Eastvale in July of 2019, Amanda worked for the City of Rialto for approximately 14 years, completing her service as the Finance Manager. She was responsible for a staff of eleven employees covering four divisions: Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Users Tax Administration. Amanda facilitated two financing opportunities for Rialto, was a labor negotiation team member, administered Community Facilities Districts, and oversaw the annual audit and budget processes. She was hired by the City of Eastvale as Accounting Manager in July 2019 and has been serving as Acting Finance Director/ City Treasurer since November 2019.
“I am excited to begin serving as the Finance Director/ City Treasurer for the City of Eastvale,” said Finance Director Amanda Wells. “In coordination with the City’s management and finance team, I plan to maintain a solid fiscal status for the City into the foreseeable future.”
Amanda has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University San Bernardino, and is currently a student in their Masters of Public Administration program with a concentration in Financial Management. Amanda and her husband, Jeremy, reside in Eastvale.
