CVWBC Graduates Women From Its Entrepreneurial Training Series
Another Cohort of IYT Graduates!
Palm Desert, Ca – The Coachella Valley Women’s Business Center in collaboration with Citi Bank Community Development has just graduated another cohort from the “It’s Your Time: Entrepreneurial Training Series for Women”.
This intensive educational program, which includes training, counseling, mentoring, and networking, is designed to assist female entrepreneurs in launching or growing a business. Approaching 500 participants over the last 12 years, it has been the guiding force behind many of the valley’s successful women-owned businesses.
This cohort of women included entrepreneurs launching businesses such as mobile massage services, online clothing sales, salsa production, real estate and insurance agents, and a business specializing in organization and de-cluttering. This variety of endeavors is typical of this program and represents the ingenuity and enthusiasm that women entrepreneurs demonstrate.
Included in the graduation program was Chi K. Elder, Vice President and Community Officer for Citi Bank, who spoke of Citi’s continued endorsement of women entrepreneurs, and the pride with which the company views the accomplishment of both these women and this program.
Angelica Rojo, of Red Angel Salon and Blowdry Bar, was the featured alumnae speaker, who told of the impact that CVWBC, IYT, and its subsequent “next level” program, “Ignite” had on her realizing her long-held dream of owning her own salon.
The next cohort of IYT will begin on September 11, with applications due by Friday, August 30, 2019.
According to Kim Scanlan, Project Director, “Our goal is to empower women through entrepreneurship, and this program is instrumental in helping us accomplish that.”
