Faith & Community Empowerment (FACE) Presents a FREE Homeownership Fair
First-time Homebuyers learn how to turn dreams of Homeownership into a reality

WHAT: FACE – Faith and Community Empowerment (formerly KCCD) presents an exciting FREE Homeownership Fair on Saturday, October 19 from 9am-1pm for first-time homebuyers to learn about programs and resources to make homeownership a reality for any budget. To guarantee your seat, please be sure to pre-register online. First one hundred to register gets an extra raffle ticket. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with mortgage lenders and industry experts who will provide the tools needed to purchase a home. Past speakers have included experts from organizations such as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, City of Los Angeles Housing and Community Investment Department, Freddie Mac, Los Angeles County Assessor’s Office, and more. Bank partners include Union Bank, US Bank, CIT Bank, Bank of the West, Bank of America, Boston Private, among others, providing their expertise related to mortgage and financial products. The fair includes plenary sessions covering various homeownership topics (credit, home buying process, special bank products, down payment assistance and foreclosure prevention assistance resources and programs). Participants also have opportunities to visit exhibit booths for resource materials, speak with industry experts, and win raffle prizes.
Recent FACE Success Spotlight: Cain Rivera, a FACE Homebuyer Education client, purchased his first home – a $249,000 property in the Lake Balboa neighborhood of Van Nuys – with the help of $115,000 in down payment assistance. Rivera is only 22-years old, has an annual income of $34,000, and used less than $3,000 of his own personal funds to complete the purchase. To date, FACE has helped over 10,000 homebuyers on their way to realizing their dreams of homeownership. In addition, FACE has helped homebuyers with over $1.7 million in down payment assistance. The Fair’s theme of Dream to Reality reflects the many Americans who aspire to own a home and achieve a part of the American Dream.
