Mission Steampunk Fundraiser, March 5th Features Brett Waterman
Riverside, CA – Brett Waterman, the congenial host of DIY Network’s Restored will be attending MISSION STEAMPUNK in support of the Mission Inn Foundation and Museum on March 5th, 2019 in the Mission Inn Hotel’s Atrio, Galleria, and St. Francis Chapel.
Preservationist Brett Waterman brings new life to historic homes on DIY Network’s ‘Restored.’ Many of the episodes in Seasons One and Two were filmed in the Inland Empire with a focus on Redlands and Riverside. In each hour episode, Waterman transforms one character filled house for a couple or family who owns it. He focuses on homes with fascinating stories and unrealized potential hidden beneath neglect, bad renovations and ugly additions.
Waterman will bring his enthusiasm for historic preservation and community engagement to MISSION STEAMPUNK, benefiting the Mission Inn Foundation’s education and preservation initiatives. From 5:30-9:30 p.m. on March 5, enjoy a champagne welcome, live entertainment including performances by Encore Performing Arts circus conservatory students, silent and live auctions, steamy signature cocktails, and delectable morsels all in the warm sparkle of this National Historic Landmark. This year’s theme is MISSION STEAMPUNK, a style of design and fashion that combines historical elements with anachronistic technological features inspired by science fiction. History and fantasy will come together in one of the most sought-after venues in downtown Riverside for a magical night of fun!
The night kicks off with a champagne welcome in the Mission Inn Museum at 5:30 p.m. and a viewing of the current exhibition, Curio Shop, before heading up to the main event in the Atrio and Galleria at 6:00 p.m. The hotel’s crown jewel, the St. Francis Chapel, will be open for viewing. A range of must-have items in the live and silent auctions, such as one-on-one experiences with Waterman or Riverside Mayor Rusty Bailey, will appeal to all tastes and interests. Other luxury prizes include a gorgeous beach-view condo in San Clemente, an item from Mardon’s Jewelry, 2-night stay in a classic Big Bear cabin, sporting event tickets, and more.
