Pop-up Cards, Painting, and Photography at the Museum
Visitors are invited to participate in art programs at the San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 20, 21, and 22. These Arts, Naturally! programs are sponsored in part by the James Irvine Foundation, and are included in paid museum admission.
Pop-Up Greeting Cards, on Friday, August 20 at 10am, 1pm and 3pm. Create and personalize your very own greeting cards. All materials are included in these artist-led workshops.
Painting Meets Music, on Saturday, August 22 at 10am, 1pm and 3pm. Let music encourage the artist in you. Terry Long is a professor of art at the University of Redlands and he has been leading art workshops at the museum for several weeks. Additional activities will be available for younger children.
Photography Made Simple: Still life, on Sunday, August 22 at 1pm and 3pm. Use their own point-and-shoot or cell phone cameras to explore elements of photographic composition and lighting. The popularity and accessibility of these cameras makes photography available to everyone. This workshop will offer ideas for making casual and candid photographs more artistic.
The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays and holiday Mondays from 9am to 5pm. Admission is $8 (adult), $6 (military or senior), $5 (student) and $4 (child aged 5 to 12). Children under five and Museum Association members are admitted free.
