Rotolo Chevrolet and Horace Mann Insurance Recognized for Their Commitment to Education
Mayor Acquanetta Warren and the City Council Recognize Rotolo Chevrolet and Horace Mann Insurance for Their Commitment to Education!
Fontana, California, June 7, 2011. The Mayor and City Council invite the residents of the City of Fontana to a special recognition honoring the contributions of Bill and Marie Waddingham of Rotolo Chevrolet and Leonard and Rosa Dominguez of Horace Mann Insurance for the time and money dedicated to a campaign to promote attendance at school. The program is called PASS-Perfect Attendance Spells Success.
More than 5,000 Fontana Unified School District students and family members participated in the programs inaugural efforts. To be eligible, students in 10th through 12th grades must maintain at least a 2.5 grade-point average; have no out-of-school suspensions and have at least a 96 percent attendance record.
About 2,400 Fontana students were eligible to be recognized, and 15 received prizes for their commitment to school. Drawings determined who won prizes including flat-screen televisions, an iPad, Angels tickets, three $1,000 scholarships and the grand prize, a new Chevrolet Cruze.
“I am so grateful for community members like the Waddingham’s and Dominguez’s who believe strongly in education and supporting the youth of our great community.” stated Mayor Warren.
