Free Kids Backpacks, Agency Services Available at Resource Fair
Cabazon, CA – The Cabazon Community Resource Fair this Thursday, August 1, from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., held at 14580 Broadway Street in Cabazon, serves as a ‘one-stop shop’ for Riverside County residents who need services. If you have questions about Child Support services, support for caregivers of loved ones, employment, money management or various other service needs, help is available.
Last year fair officials handed out 70 free backpacks for kids getting ready to head back to school and we’re doing it again this year. The event, which is in its fourth year, is free to the public and is co-hosted by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Department of Public Social Services – Desert Hot Springs (DHS) Family Resource Center and Children’s Services Office in Banning.
“We are proud to work alongside with these partners,” said Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco. “We value the quality of life of our community members and are looking forward to participating in this event.”
“We want our smaller communities in Riverside County, like Cabazon, to know that we understand there’s a need for this type of event and we are here to help,” said Larry Singh, Community Program Specialist with Desert Hot Springs Family Resource Center
The Cabazon Community Resource Fair is especially designed to assist seniors, veterans, people with disabilities and families with children. However, there will be information for everyone, including: assistance with utility bills, health insurance, food banks, child education, counseling services, completing high school, and child abuse prevention.
