Get to Steppin’ Fontana: Community Walk
Fontana, Calif. – The next monthly community walk, a part of the Fontana Walks! challenge, will take place Saturday, September 23 at 7:00 a.m. at the Jessie Turner Health and Fitness Center (15556 Summit Avenue).
September’s theme is “Hydration is Key.” Healthy Fontana will discuss the importance of staying hydrated and the amount of sugar lurking in popular beverages. All participants will receive a free Healthy Fontana water bottle, along with entry into a drawing for a HydroFlask water bottle (valued at $30).
Since the challenge’s launch on August 19, 2017, participants have walked over a million steps. The goal is to collectively walk 2 billion steps over the course of one year, while encouraging residents to be more active in daily routines.
“Healthy Fontana is extremely happy with the progress the City has made thus far,” states Community Services Supervisor, Tiffany Starks. “The response has been positive and supportive, and shows how invested Fontana residents are in improving their health.”
