Moreno Valley – Salute to Our Veterans Art Exhibition
Moreno Valley, CA – The Vanguard Art Gallery, in Moreno Valley, is honoring our Veterans through their “Salute to Our Veterans Exhibition”. Several Veterans artists will be featured through the month of July, who have seen service in the Vietnam, Kuwait, and Iraq. Two women, who are participating, were combat photographers with the Navy and Marines.
Richard L. F. Archer, President of the Moreno Valley Cultural Arts Foundation, created this exhibition as part of a larger project to celebrate the diverse talents of our Veterans. Archer thanks Thomas Ketcham from Supervisor Jeffries’ office and Grant Gautsche, Director of the Riverside County Department of Veterans Affairs and the numerous Veterans organizations that assisted in getting the word out about the exhibition.
The next step for MVCAF is establishing a Veterans Artists Cooperative that will be comprised of artist’s studios, a common workshop area for collaborative projects, along with a sound/video studio. Veteran artists who are interested in the project are encouraged to contact Mr. Archer, at 562-556-5178. MVCAF will be creating video biographies on each of the artists and posting them on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and their web site, http://www.mvcaf.org. Archer states that the exhibition and video biographies personalize the perception of these Veterans with their art as a clear statement about
their humanity.
The Vanguard Art Gallery is open Monday through Saturday, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The Vanguard will be hosting their monthly art walk on Saturday, July 21 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and an Artists reception beginning at 4:00 PM. The art walk and reception are free to the public. The Vanguard Art Gallery is located at 27120 Eucalyptus Avenue, Suite G, Moreno Valley, CA 92555
