Rappel down the side of Riverside’s City Hall to support Veterans!
Over the Edge for Habitat for Humanity Riverside will raise awareness and funds to bring strength, stability, self-reliance, and shelter to veteran families in need of a decent place to live.
Riverside, Calif. – Habitat for Humanity Riverside is hosting its second Over the Edge fundraising event on July 14th and 15th! There are still a few spots left for this exciting, one of a kind event. The few, brave, and adventurous people to accept the challenge will have the opportunity to rappel down the face of Riverside’s iconic City Hall! Participants must reach the fundraising minimum of $1,000, to have the opportunity to go Over the Edge. Leading up to the event, participants have been receiving fundraising support and coaching from a fundraising professional and have set up on their own, peer to peer fundraising page. An exciting additional to this year’s event, the Riverside Police Department and the San Bernardino Police Department have agreed to a Battle of the Badges, Police Chief Challenge. Riverside Police Chief, Sergio Diaz, and San Bernardino Police Chief, Jarrod Burguan are competing to see who can raise the most money and the winning Chief will select what uniform the runner up Chief will rappel in! They will be rappelling on July 15th at High Noon.
“We are excited to be able to once again offer an exciting fundraiser that is just a little different and appeals to the adventurous side of our community. To be able to offer the support and needed services to our veterans while having this much fun is just icing on the cake!” said Kathy Michalak, Habitat for Humanity Riverside, Executive Director
100% of the proceeds from this event go toward support for Habitat for Humanity Riverside’s veteran’s programs which include new home ownership, home repair services for current homeowners and supportive services such as financial literacy training, peer to peer counseling, trauma informed art therapy, and minor home repair training.
This event is made possible in part through the sponsorship and support of US Bank.
