Riverside Community College District Hires Wilson to Lead RCCD Foundation
Launa Wilson has been selected as the executive director of the Riverside Community College District Foundation.
Wilson possesses a deep knowledge of the principles and practices of development, a strong commitment to accountability through measurable goals and metrics, and a limitless passion for the value of higher education. She began her job on October 3 and replaces Amy Cardullo who retired last July after serving RCCD for 21 years.
Recently Wilson served the University of California, Riverside (UCR) as the senior director of development in the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. Prior to arriving at UCR, Wilson was the director of development for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Foundation where she coordinated fundraising efforts for the university’s Greenspun College of Urban Affairs.
“Launa brings extensive knowledge and experience in development and leadership which will contribute to the strength of our foundation and benefit the entire community,” Chancellor Michael Burke said. “I am confident the Foundation will thrive under her leadership.”
The Foundation was established in 1975 to support student scholarships, academic and career programs at Moreno Valley, Norco and Riverside City colleges. In 2015-16, the Foundation awarded close to $500,000 in financial assistance to students – current, transferring and high school – in support of their educational goals.
Wilson holds a masters and bachelor’s degrees in social work from UNLV.
