The Force is Strong – At Victoria Gardens
Rancho Cucamonga, CA – Inland Empire families recently had a unique opportunity to celebrate all things Star Wars, without even leaving the galaxy.
This year’s Star Wars Day guests enjoyed live bands performing classic Star Wars tunes, a “best in the universe” costume contest, vintage Star Wars collector displays complete with original costumes and movie posters, a live light saber demonstration, and a parade filled with fan-favorite characters.
Leading local retail and entertainment destination Victoria Gardens partnered with Archibald Library and the City of Rancho Cucamonga to present “Star Wars Day” – complete with an action-packed lineup of Star Wars themed activities, music, and entertainment.
Perhaps the best part is the focus of the event, which aims to inspire young children and teenagers alike to become curious, interested, and excited about reading.
Fans lined up to meet and hug the famous furry co-pilot, Chewbacca. Luke Skywalker interviewed potential Jedis in the Star Wars costume contest. Darth Vader visited the party to share an intergalactic story with the crowd.
One of the most unique offerings of the day was the opportunity to hear firsthand from a panel of Star Wars screenwriters and authors.
Attendees learned behind-the-scenes secrets from Gary Whitta, a screenwriter for Star Wars: Rogue One; Michael Kogge, author of The Last Jedi: A Junior Novel; Chris Alexander, author of Star Wars Origami; and Kevin Shinick, author of Chewie and the Porgs.
