Workshop teaches employees how to adapt to changing workplace
Seminar encourages workers to embrace new developments
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (Jan. 12, 2011) —The City of San Bernardino, Economic Development Agency, Office of Business Development is hosting a seminar that will discuss how business owners and employees can deal with change in the workplace. The workshop titled, “Becoming an Effective Agent of Change,” will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Office of Business Development, 201-B N. E Street, Suite 200, in San Bernardino.
The seminar is taught by Rudy Westervelt, president of Power in Learning, a Crestline-based company that provides top-level management training to small businesses. Westervelt has more than 30 years experience managing companies in Corporate America.
Lori Tillery, economic development manager, said the workplace has seen huge changes over the past 20 years, including everything from the Internet to cell phones and a rise in employees who work at home.
“The only constant is change,” Tillery said. “This workshop teaches employees to accept that change as inevitable and learn to embrace new developments.”
