Art Show Reception at Twentynine Palms Visitor Center & Art Gallery, Oct. 6th
“INTO THE WILD . . . FORTUNE FAVORS THE BOLD”
Twentynine Palms, CA – An opening art reception will be held on Saturday, October 6, from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. for “Into the Wild: Fortune Favors the Bold,” the Art in Public Places fall exhibition at Twentynine Palms Visitor Center and Art Gallery and Chamber of Commerce, 73484 29 Palms Hwy. in downtown Twentynine Palms.
The public is invited to view the exhibition, meet the artists, and enjoy live music and afternoon refreshments in Bucklin Park, located next to the visitor center. The event is part of the Pioneer Days Kick-Off Celebration.
Artwork in the show addresses the theme “Into the Wild,” interpreting brave adventures in the desert wilderness. Artists have expressed the theme in paintings and a variety of mixed media.
In addition to the exhibition of new art at the visitor center and in honor of Pioneer Days, Art in Public Places also focuses attention this fall on the historic Mural #25, Keys’ Desert Queen Ranch, which depicts one of the most famous local pioneer families.
Art in Public Places exhibitions are hosted quarterly by the Public Arts Advisory Committee (PAAC) of the City of Twentynine Palms.
The visitor center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 73484 29 Palms Hwy. at the corner of Desert Queen Avenue in downtown Twentynine Palms. For questions or directions, contact the visitor center at (760) 367-3445.
