Healthy Fontana hosts Upcoming Cooking Classes
Fontana, California – The Mayor and City Council invite the public to register for the upcoming “Fast, Fresh, and Fabulous” and “Healthy Jr. Chef” cooking classes offered by the Healthy Fontana program.
Join Healthy Fontana’s Chef for the “Fast, Fresh, and Fabulous” cooking class for innovative ways to prepare healthier meals and snacks using fresh, healthy foods and learn about the importance of eating 5 to 9 fruits and vegetables per day. Pre-registration is required and sign up early because this class fills up fast! To register, please call the Healthy Fontana Hotline at (909) 350-6542. Classes are free and are offered the first or third Saturday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Classes begin September 11, 2010 and will be held at the Shady Trails Parkhouse at 15800 South Park Lane.
Children can join Healthy Fontana’s Chef for the “Healthy Jr. Chef” cooking class for an interactive and fun cooking class teaching children how to cook and prepare healthy dishes and snacks. Exciting class themes include nutrition, safe food handling, sanitation and proper utensil use. This class is specifically for children ages 8-14 and parent supervision is mandatory. Pre-registration is required. To register, please call the Healthy Fontana Hotline at (909) 350-6542. Classes are free and are held on the third Saturday of the month from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Classes begin September 18, 2010 and will be held at the Shady Trails Parkhouse at 15800 South Park Lane.
The Healthy Fontana program educates residents on how to live a healthy lifestyle that focuses on nutrition, active living, community partnerships and smart growth. Nutrition is such an important aspect to a person’s overall well-being and Healthy Fontana’s cooking classes provide nutritional education in a fun-filled, hands-on experience.
