Pechanga-Riverside Road Run Celebrates Wounded Veterans
Pamona Valley Corvette Owners and Road Warrior Foundation Celebrate Veterans with Pechanga-Riverside Road Run
Temecula, Calif. – The Pamona Valley Corvette Association and the Road Warrior Foundation are joining forces to celebrate wounded veterans with a tribute ride comprising more than 35 vintage and contemporary Corvettes and 35 veteran-piloted Can-Am Spyder motorcycles. The ride will begin at the Pechanga Valley Resort & Casino in Temecula and end at the March Field Air Museum in Riverside, Calif., where participating vehicles will be displayed on the flight line with the museum’s vintage aircraft.
“The Pamona Valley Corvette Association is graciously hosting this outing for wounded veterans from across southern California,” said Kendell Madden, an Oceanside resident and board member of the Road Warrior Foundation. “Events like this provide a great escape from the daily challenges faced by many wounded veterans and pay tribute to the sacrifices and lingering effects that many endure long after they return home from service to their country.”
The public is invited to witness the tribute ride, either from the starting point in Temecula or at the end at the March Field Air Museum in Riverside. Contributions are welcome to help offset the expenses of the effort and support other programs produced by the nonprofit Road Warrior Foundation.
John Schembari, president of the Pomona Valley Corvette Association, said, “Our members are thrilled to participate in this event. We try to work with deserving organizations that make a meaningful impact in the lives of their beneficiaries, and the veterans that the Road Warrior Foundation helps deserve to be recognized for the contributions and sacrifices they’ve made for all Americans. We’re really excited to involved.”
The Road Warrior Foundation, founded in 2013, is managed by a 100% volunteer staff that provides adventures to wounded military veterans. Most notable among its efforts is the annual Road Warrior Ride, which hosts a dozen or more veterans on week-long cross-country rides on Can-Am Spyder three-wheeled vehicles. That ride and all other RWF adventures are built to empower wounded veterans and help them overcome problems that challenge them in their daily life.
