Fontana, California, October 18, 2010. The Mayor and City Council invite the public to attend safe, fun, exciting, free and family-friendly Halloween events at local centers this October.
The Jessie Turner Health and Fitness Center located at 15556 Summit Avenue is host to one of this year’s Halloween celebrations. Don’t miss out on Jessie Turner’s Halloween Spooktacular on Sunday, October 31 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Participants will enjoy an evening of entertainment, games, crafts, a haunted house, a costume contest and candy. The Don Day Neighborhood Center is also hosting a Halloween celebration where attendees will enjoy games, entertainment, safe indoor trick-or-treating and a costume contest. The celebration will take place from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at 14501 Live Oak Avenue. For more information, call the Don Day Center at (909) 349-6997.
Don’t miss the ten spookifying rooms at Fontana’s scariest haunted house this October! The Wicked Wonderland Haunted House will be open at the Jack Bulik Teen Center, located at 16581 Filbert Street, on October 29 and 30 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Halloween night (October 31) from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Haunted House isn’t recommended for children under the age of eight but is sure to be frightfully fantastic for older children and adults.
Also at the Teen Center, the Family-Friendly Halloween Festival is perfect for family members of all ages. Attendees will enjoy game booths, candy, festive music, arts & crafts, face-painting and other activities. The event will be held Sunday, October 31 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. The costume contest begins at 6:00 p.m. For more information, please call the Jack Bulik Teen Center at (909) 349-6985. “We have everything and plenty of candy for those in attendance,” Community Services Coordinator Jason Hendrix said. “We want residents to come out and have a great time!”
The Jack Bulik Teen Center is also the place to purchase tickets for the Knott’s Scary Farm Excursion which is open to all Fontana Residents, but is not recommended for children under the age of 10. The excursion will take place Saturday, October 9 but tickets may be purchased beginning September 20. The cost, including admission and transportation, is $45.00 per person. The bus will leave the Teen Center at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and will return to the Teen Center at approximately 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Please call (909) 349-6985 for more information.
