Two Non-Profit Organizations Collaborated to Host a Summer picnic for Local Foster Families
Rialto, CA– This past summer, two non-profit organizations within the Inland Empire, Ark Homes Foster Family Agency (AHFFA) and Building Bridges Foster Family Agency (BBFFA) collaborated to host a summer picnic for their foster families.
Children placed within the foster care system go through a difficult time. Going into a stranger’s home to live temporarily is never easy. Children that are referred to the program have often been victims of abuse, neglect and have special emotional needs.
Ark Homes FFA and Building Bridges FFA’s goal is to effectively match the needs of each child in their care with an appropriate home environment. To accomplish this, AHFFA & BBFFA both do their best to help foster parents effectively meet the needs of the children and help them live as normal of a life as possible.
This year, as summer came around, the two organizations hosted a summer picnic at Joe Sampson Park in the city of Rialto. The day consisted of multiple activities happening all throughout the park. This included a barbecue with unlimited tacos, hot dogs, salads and, for dessert, cookies and ice cream! This was fitting for the hot day that it was.
Activities for the kids included, jumpers, slides, face painting and carnival games with cool prizes! Not only were the kids enjoying the activities, but the event had some visitors such as black panther, spider man, captain America, princess jasmine and, let’s not forget everyone’s favorite, baby shark!
It was a fun filled day for our foster families. The kids were able to have a day where all their stress and emotions were free and they were able to enjoy, win prizes and make friends and memories that they will never forget!
