Big Bear Lake – The Adult Learning and Referral Center is providing a “Yoga for Weight Loss” class.  The Classes will be held every Wednesday, starting June 1, 2016 through June 28, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.   The instructor will be Elizabeth Peregrina who has taught yoga for many years.  Equipment needed for this class will be a floor mat or large beach towel.  Yoga can help you lose serious weight in a few minutes of deep breathing and yoga poses.

While practicing yoga may help you take-in fewer calories, it may also be changing where those calories are ending up. Fat collects where we want it least—the stomach—in part when levels of a so-called stress hormone, cortisol, rise. Not surprisingly, yoga has been shown to reduce cortisol levels, presumably making it easier to shed belly fat.
