Moreno Valley, CA – The 24hr design event DESIGN FOR GOOD Inland Valley takes place on Saturday thru Sunday April 16-17, 2016 and will now be live streamed over the Twitter-owned video app Periscope, allowing light sleepers and the design-curious a sneak peek of the creative process. DESIGN FOR GOOD, which is providing a ‘design-makeover’ for four local nonprofit organizations, is hosted by students from the Visual Arts Program at Cal State University San Bernardino and includes participants from University of Redlands and The Art Institute of California – Inland Empire.
The public can watch live team meetings and brainstorming sessions on Periscope by signing on to @arts4_good at 10:00am, 11:00am as well as group critique sessions at 4:00pm and 4:00am. The nonprofits getting brand makeovers are The Orenda Foundation, with support services for veterans; Family Assistance Program of Victorville, assisting youth and families; Women of Noble Character, offering faith-based programs that build esteem among women and girls; and High Desert Homeless Shelters, one of the few family-oriented housing shelters in southern California.
DESIGN FOR GOOD is a labor of love for all involved. Participants will give more than $20,000 in pro bono services to worthy nonprofits. Small donations to support ongoing design-a-thons in the region are being collected on Generousity.com at: bit.ly/1TdNMAD. Event partners include AIGA chapters in Los Angeles and Orange County, the Arts Council of San Bernardino, Academy for Grassroots Organizations, Taproot Foundation, a pro bono service advocate in Los Angeles, with sponsorship from High Desert Community Foundation and The Community Foundation of Riverside and San Bernardino County.
